The granulation tissue was removed with forceps and in the process of removing this the suture material was uncovered bilaterally. This was cut and removed and further granulation tissue removed.

Hysterectomy granulation (also known as vaginal vault granulation) is the growth of scar tissue at the top of the vagina when the cervix has been removed. It isn’t common, dangerous or serious but it can cause discomfort, pain and some post operative bleeding. The purpose of this case report is to describe an innovative surgical approach using CO 2 laser vaporization under colposcopic and laparoscopic guidance for the treatment of persistent granulation tissue due to recurrent vaginal mesh erosion.
